SAVE THE DATES!2016 Conference Overview:
The SBCNA Annual Conference seeks to examine issues relevant to the principles and practices of training self-regulation, with special attention to biofeedback and neurofeedback.
Presentations will address current research related to biofeedback, neurofeedback, and complementary areas of practice such as nutrition, metabolic health, and stress. Other speakers will present evidence-based tools, methods and strategies designed to optimize training outcomes for the bio/neurofeedback professional. In addition to compelling speakers, the 2016 conference will offer workshops and hands-on equipment demonstrations for beginning through advanced practitioners.
Our conference has become known for a relaxed and open collegiality that encourages exchange of ideas and connections among professionals. Among attendees are clinicians such as counselors, psychologists, physicians, and allied health professionals, representing a wide variety of interest areas within the field of healthcare. We also welcome students pursuing courses of study leading to practice in the areas of neuroscience and self-regulation, others seeking information about possible career paths, and consumers interested in learning more about what biofeedback and related therapies can offer.
Pre-Conference:
Two half-day workshops will be designed to provide an introduction to the science and art of self-regulation training using biofeedback and neurofeedback. We will offer a combination of presentations and hands-on workshops intended for therapists and consumers who may have no biofeedback or neurofeedback experience, or for those seeking a basic refresher---particularly valuable to clinicians interested in learning more about incorporating self-regulation technology into their practices, or to consumers considering the services of a biofeedback or neurofeedback professional.
Overall Course Learning Objectives:
The SBCNA 2016 Annual Conference is an inter-disciplinary/multi-disciplinary conference that seeks to examine the following:
- issues relevant to principles and practices of training self-regulation with special attention to the role of biofeedback and neurofeedback.
- methods and techniques that have the potential to enhance outcomes using self-regulation, as well as other natural methods, to help clients in their pursuit of optimal health, including biofeedback and neurofeedback as well as nutritional and metabolic interventions, massage therapies, yoga, mindfulness, or training in optimal breathing.
- take-home recommendations for strategies and practices that support efficacy of BFB/NFB in training self-regulation for optimal health.
- best practice techniques that enhance outcomes for BFB and NFB therapies.
